What we collect, and why.

A plain description of the information Developing Today Appointments collects, what it is used for, who else handles it and how long it is kept. Last updated 29 September 2026.

Developing Today Appointments is operated by Developing Today ("we"). Businesses use it to take bookings from their customers. When you book with a business, that business decides what happens with your appointment; we store and process the booking for them. Questions about any of this can go to [email protected].

When you book an appointment

The booking form asks for:

  • your email address (required), used to send your confirmation, and any change or cancellation of the appointment;
  • your name, phone number and address, all optional, which the business sees with your appointment;
  • whether you'd like reminders by email or by text message.

We also store the appointment itself (the service, location and time), your browser's time zone, and, if you cancel, the reason you give. The business can see and edit your appointment, mark it as a no-show, and download its appointment list. We keep a record of the people who have booked, keyed by email address, so a later booking with the same address updates the same record.

Anyone with your confirmation or cancel link can see the appointment's service, time and location, and cancel it, so please don't share those links.

When you use Developing Today Appointments for your business

  • When you sign in, we record your email address, the account identifier your sign-in provider (Microsoft, Google or Apple) gives us, and when you signed in. We never receive your password.
  • We store what you enter about your business: its name and logo address, its locations (with their addresses, contact details and position on a map), services, hours, holidays and notification rules, and the names and email addresses of the staff you add.

Emails and text messages

Confirmation, change and cancellation emails are sent through Microsoft 365 from our address. Replies go to the location's email address, if the business has given one. Text message reminders, when they are sent, go through Microsoft Azure Communication Services.

Error reports and monitoring

To find and fix problems, every page of the website (these pages included) and our server report errors to our own Sentry server, along with performance measurements for about one in five page loads. The server's traces and logs go to monitoring we run ourselves. These reports can include:

  • your IP address;
  • your browser and device type, and the pages you visited;
  • if you're signed in, an internal identifier for your account and the organization you're working in; the server's log of a new booking also records the signed-in person's email address.

Sentry doesn't record what you do on a page: there are no session recordings.

Analytics

The only analytics is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare adds to our pages to count visits and measure how quickly pages load. It uses no cookies.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Developing Today Appointments sets cookies only while you sign in: short-lived ones (ten minutes at most) that check the answer coming back from Google or Apple belongs to your sign-in, and one (two minutes) that hands the finished sign-in to the page. None is used for tracking.
  • Google, Microsoft and Apple set their own cookies on their sign-in pages, and Stripe on its checkout pages.
  • Your sign-in is kept in your browser's session storage, and your light or dark theme choice in its local storage.

Where it's kept, and for how long

The data is stored in a database on our own server. It is backed up every night; backups are kept on the server for 14 days, and an encrypted copy is stored in Microsoft Azure, where earlier copies are kept for up to 90 days.

Bookings and the records described above aren't deleted automatically at the moment, and the database keeps a history of changes to them. If you'd like to ask about information held about you, email [email protected].
